Privacy policy

Last updated 29 July 2026

The short version: PowerShell Engineer does not collect your personal data, sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising, and has no accounts. The extensions keep your settings on your own device. Nothing is sent to us.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. It uses no cookies at all, first-party or third-party, so there is nothing to consent to and no cookie banner. Fonts and styles are served from this domain, not from a third party.

This website

powershellengineer.com is a static site. It runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and loads no third-party resources. One ordinary thing still happens: our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (such as your IP address, the page requested, and your browser type) to serve the site and guard against abuse. See Vercel's privacy policy for how they handle that.

The browser extensions

The Chrome, Edge, and Firefox extensions store your form values, your Engineer profile, your chosen target, and your language locally through the browser's own storage (chrome.storage.local). That data stays on your device. It is not synced to an account, and it is never sent to us. There is no telemetry and there are no analytics.

When you send or validate a prompt, the extension copies it to your clipboard and pastes it into the AI chat you selected (GitHub Copilot, Copilot, M365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini). From that point the prompt and the AI's reply are handled by that provider under their privacy policy, exactly as if you had typed it yourself. We are not in the middle of it.

The extensions request access only to those six AI hosts, and only to place the prompt in the chat box. They do not read your browsing on other sites.

Links to other services

The site and the extensions link out to GitHub, YouTube (@PowerShellEngineer), and the PowerShell.News newsletter on Substack. If you follow those links or subscribe, the data you provide there is governed by that service's privacy policy, not this one.

Children

This is a tool for professional engineers. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
